How Music Helped Elevate My Language Learning: Bonus Inside!

I grew up listening to New York’s 93.1 Amor station that played all the Latin Pop hits, and 105.9 “La Kalle” when I was craving more of the Urban Latin vibe, like reggaeton and dembow. Spanish music was always part of my life and I consider music as one of the biggest influences in my language learning. After all, I did learn how to sing in Spanish before I learned how to speak in Spanish.

To this day, my favorite musical genre is Latin pop – typically ballads from artists like Reik, Luis Fonsi, Camila, Sin Bandera, etc. When I got intentional about my language learning journey, I spent time translating the lyrics and memorizing them in order to understand grammatical concepts, as well as colloquialisms.

That being said, I’ve created a Recovering No Sabo Kid Playlist where my followers can listen to the songs that helped me build my vocabulary, with some extra songs that really are just pa’ la cultura. Take a listen here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4xqgYQ78QipvvowetOTfTI?si=821667b5154c4a19

Espero que disfrusten de esta playlist!
